Florian Haslinger ist stellvertretender Direktor des SED und betreut den Bereich Finanzen, Controlling und Administration. Er vertritt den SED im Geschäftsführenden Ausschuss des LAINAT (Lenkungsausschuss Intervention Naturgefahren) und in weiteren Gremien des Bundes. Von 2012 bis 2023 war er massgeblich beteiligt am Aufbau des European Plate Observing System EPOS, einer europäischen Forschungsinfrastruktur, speziell an der Organisation der seismologischen Komponente. Er ist weiterhin Teil der Schweizer Vertretung in der EPOS Generalversammlung. Seit 2017 ist Florian Haslinger einer der Delegierten für die Schweiz in der Arbeitsgruppe B der Vorbereitenden Kommission für den Atomteststoppvertrag (CTBTO Preparatory Commission).
