New Earthquake Simulator and Interactive Exhibition in Sion

The pedagogical center for earthquake prevention (CPPS, Centre Pédagogique de Prévention des Séismes) in Sion was officially opened on March 18, 2016. Journalists and other guests were invited to learn about the newly developed earthquake simulator and the interactive exhibition on earthquakes and their effects. The Department of Education and Security of the canton of Valais, the HES-SO Valais-Wallis, and the Swiss Seismological Service (SED) at ETH Zurich worked together to create this innovative preventive concept. The new center will be open for schools and the general public starting in September.

Visit the CPPS website or read this flyer to learn more about it.

Besides, the earthquake simulator of the focusTerra museum at ETH Zurich offers you another possibility to experience what an earthquake feels like without putting yourself in danger.
