Before the earthquake

Objects can fall when an earthquake is happening.
For example: pictures, lamps, TVs, flower pots.
Make these things secure.

Prepare some emergency supplies.
You can live on these emergency supplies for a while.
This is what you need:

  • Food
  • Water
  • Medication
  • First-aid kit (with desinfectant, plasters, bandages, and more)
  • Soap
  • Toilet paper
  • Torch
  • Money

Have your ID ready:

  • Identity card or passport

 

 

 

During the earthquake

Inside

Crawl under a sturdy table.

Be careful:
Objects could fall down.

Outside

Stay outside.
Do not go indoors.

Other places are dangerous.

Do not go there:

  • Bridges
  • Lakes
  • Rivers

 

After the earthquake

Be careful:
Objects could still fall down.

Watch out for a second earthquake.
More earthquakes sometimes happen. 

Listen to the news.
For example, on the radio, on television or on the internet.
