Updates for the web browser Mozilla appear regularly. If you want to update (or upgrade) to a newer version, you should consider to update with a RPM-package. Why? The deinstallation of an older version, which was installed 'manually' with an installation script, may be more complicated than you expect.

Here we describe on how to update Mozilla from version 1.2.1 (which is shipped with SuSE Linux 8.2) to version 1.3 .

- Start 'Konqueror' and go to the URL ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/projects/mozilla
- Click on newest version (here 1.3)
- Click on '8.2-i386' (since we are running SuSE Linux 8.2 - if you run another
version of SuSE, click on the appropriate symbol)
- Click on 'mozilla-1.3-8.i586.rpm' (this will download ~10 MB; may take a while)
- When the download is finished, you should choose 'Install Packet with YaST'
(Installiere Paket mit YaST), if you are running SuSE 8.2 - for SuSE 8.1 see
the article in Easy Linux; that's where
I got the idea for the description of this webpage!
- enter the root-password in the window appearing... and your new version of
  Mozilla will be installed.
- That's it! Launch Mozilla and under the Menu 'Help' and 'About Mozilla'
you should now see 'Mozilla 1.3'.

However: With Mozilla 1.3 you still cannot listen to 'http://echo.drs.ch' news and your children also cannot 'play' on 'http://www.habbo.ch'; well, having your children on Habbo Hotel can be a danger, too. See the article about HabboHotel, which describes, how Habbo of the phone company Orange caused a lot of problems to us (article is in German only).
