Research & Projects
We are involved in a large variety of research projects related to earthquake hazard and risk assessment, statistical seismology, earthquake forecasting, volcano-seismology, and more. These projects are funded through ETH, the Swiss National Science Foundation, the 6th and 7th Framework program of the EU, as well as private-publiuc collaborations. Below we give a brief overview of these activities. For details, please refer to publications and retrieve relevant research papers:

SHARE
is a Collaborative Project in the Cooperation programme of the Seventh
Framework Program of the European Commission. The main objective of
SHARE is to provide an updated, living seismic hazard model for the
Euro-Meditarrenean region. The project aims to establish new standards
in Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Assessment (PSHA) practice by a close
cooperation of leading European seismologists and engineers.

GEISER (Geothermal Engineering Integrating Mitigation of Induced Seismicity in Reservoirs) project is funded in the seventh framework program (FP7) of the European Commission (EC), aiming at investigating induced seismicity as an instrument to image fluid pathways induced by hydraulic stimulation treatments, as well as an implication of such treatments to potential seismic hazards.
