Dr. Laurentiu Danciu is a postdoctoral researcher at the Earthquake Statistics group of the SED. He is currently a member of the SHARE (Seismic Hazard Harmonization in Europe) project team and also previously worked on the Global Earthquake Model (GEM) pilot project as a part of the seismic hazard team. His research interests include seismic hazard assessment, Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Assessment (PSHA) software development, development of PSHA models, PSHA models implementation and calculation. Additional areas of research are in the following: development of ground motion prediction equations, development of prediction relationships for macroseismic intensity, seismic design codes, structural vulnerability, seismic risk assessment, structural modeling and analysis.
