About us

The induced seismicity group at the Swiss Seismological Service (SED) works on various questions related to man-made earthquakes caused by fluid injection. Understanding the physical processes associated with the generation of induced seismicity, describing the statistics of those events, and mitigating the seismic hazard is of particular interest to our group. We can locate the forming cracks and the flow of injected fluids by tracking microseismicity. Our group is closely working together with the statistical seismology group at the SED.
