I am the Lab Manager for Monitoring Systems in the Bedretto Underground Laboratory for Geoenergies. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the different Monitoring Systems used in Experiments in Bedretto Underground Laboratory for Geoenergies.

Since January 2020, I am leading the Underground Labs Group of the Swiss Seismological Service at ETH Zurich. My research interests range from basic acquisition of seismological data on different scales to seismic source analysis with a focus on induced micro- and picoseismicity and the joint analysis with other observables. Past and present tasks and projects include:

  • Multi-scale (from strong motion to picoseismicity) monitoring in underground experiments in Bedretto, Grimsel and Mont Terri
  • Sensor Development and Calibration for URL Experiments
  • Fibre Optics (Strain, Temperature) and Pore Pressure
  • Development of Bedretto Experiment Registration and Documentation Platform
  • Earthquake source property analysis and stress inversion
  • High-precision earthquake location and 3D magnitude of completeness analysis
  • Software development for the analysis of continuous picoseismic data
  • Implementation of seismic borehole stations (CHnet, SSMnet)
  • Site Search and Network Optimization for Seismological Surface Networks (CHnet)
